To help alleviate the food insecurity matter, we implemented a micro-economy program
called Be-Side You. Through this program, we distributed E-cards to impoverished
families, filled with credit, redeemable for food items at the neighborhood shops.
The idea behind using E-cards, instead of distributing cash or items, was to avoid
trespassing on people’s dignities, while giving them flexibility and autonomy in
procuring their household needs.
This initiative has also helped revitalize local economies, through supporting small shops
that are struggling to survive within the crisis.
To date, we have distributed more than 1000 cards, and continue our mission to reach
more at-risk families.
We start every new project by collecting data from residents within the target area, through surveys, asking questions related to the socio-economic and health status of individuals and families.
Our team proceeds by processing and organizing the data, to get an understanding of the needs of the people in our community.
Based on the assessed needs of the residents, our program development manager devises a work plan, towards meeting those needs.
Elaborate programs are then specifically designed for each area of needs, aiming to reach objectives within a set time frame.
Our team, in collaboration with certified experts, implements the programs, following the devised work plans, to ensure that the programs are delivering their intended goals.
